Indications:
Acrodermatitis
enteropathica,
Delayed wound healing,
Fistulectomy,
Diabetic ulcers,
Kwashiorkor,
Vitiligo ,
Psoriatic arthritis,
Recurrent Furunculosis,
Erythema nodosum,
Acne vulgaris,
Ureamic impotence,
Male impotence.
Contra-Indications:
Pregnancy
and Lactation
Adverse Reactions:
Due
to its emetic property, patient may exhibit nausea, vomiting
occasionally. Hence,it is preferable to administer Ascazin
along with food, rather than before or after food.
Precaution:
Though
zinc sulphate is harmless and relatively safe to administer
for longer periods,excessive supplementation for periods
more than one year is not advisable.
Except for the condition Acrodermatitis enteropathica ,
Ascazin need not be administered for more than six months
in any condition , since accumulation of zinc in the body
may lead to copper deficiency which may eventually manifest
as macrocytic anaemia.
Dosage:
The
dosage of Ascazin varies according to the nature and severity
of the condition. Usually, one capsule of Ascazin twice
daily is sufficient for most of the conditions.
WOUND HEALING: One capsule thrice daily for six weeks.
ACNE VULGARIS: One capsule twice daily for three weeks.
